Job Description
Support local Surf Life Saving clubs with the planning and delivery of key lifesaving services and initiative’s.
- Supporting clubs in the delivery of well-functioning, sustainable volunteer lifesaving patrols.
- Planning and delivery of the Paid Lifeguarding Service.
- Development, consultation and execution of local lifesaving delivery plans.
- Supporting key lifesaving projects:
- Overseeing the Rescue Water Craft fleet management.
- The auditing and procurement of lifesaving equipment.
- Managing the Patrol Advocates throughout the season.
- Meeting patrol compliance and incident reporting requirements.
The appointee should have and be able to demonstrate:
- Effective communicator, understanding of and able to listen to the needs of volunteers and stakeholders to support them in their aspirations
- Working within a team to manage the complexities of multiple workloads
- Organised and able to prioritise tasks.
- Strong understanding of Surf Life Saving processes and deliverables
- Demonstrable ability to think strategically and logically
- Demonstrate conflict resolution skills
- Highly organised and time efficient individual
- Ability to work flexible hours including but not limited to rostered weekend work
Knowledge and experience required:
- Refreshed surf lifeguard
- Previous experience within SLS or a similar organisation
- Broad base of Surf Lifesaving knowledge and patrol management
- Practical approach to coordinating training and development of programmes
- Proven office, written and computer skills
- Previous experience in a not-for-profit organisation, or demonstrated understanding of the role and constraints on volunteer organisations
OTHER
- A current NZ driver’s licence
- NZ citizenship/permanent residency
- The candidate will be Police vetted for this role
