About the Position

We are seeking talented individuals to create exemplary customer experiences by sharing knowledge and skills that enrich customers' lives.

We require our Library Assistants to welcome City Libraries customers by directing customers in the best manner to satisfy the reason for their visit and promoting our services, Apps, and events.  

The Part-Time Library Assistant roles will have a standard 9 hrs per week but may be offered additional hours when operationally available.  

The current Library Locations are below. Applicants will be required to work at all these library locations and regions as required, subject to your weekly availability.  

Northern Region

Helensvale, Runaway Bay, Upper Coomera.

Central Region

Broadbeach, Nerang, Southport, Bundall.

Southern Region

Coolangatta, Burleigh Heads, Burleigh Waters, Elanora, Robina.

We are regularly open 7 days a week, and we would offer shifts for all days Mon-Sun as they become available.

 Key Deliverables of the Position

• Deliver consistent, high-quality approach to customer experience across City Libraries when responding to customer enquiries.
• Assist new and existing library members to access information via physical and digital collections.
• Assist with the circulation and maintenance of library collections through processing returns, transits, and new items, shelving returned items, retrieving requested items from shelves, and actioning collection housekeeping reports.
•  Assist in the promotion and delivery of library programs and events.
•  Ensure the library is a welcoming space for customers and well presented.     
•  Follow daily and ongoing compliance with workplace Health & Safety requirements in a customer-facing environment.
•  Assist customers in using technology and equipment such as computers, photocopiers, wireless internet access, library apps, eBooks and mobile devices.
•  Represent the City Library Service and embody the Corporate Values in a professional manner.  
•  Possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
