At Te TÄhuhu o te MÄtauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to Äkonga and whÄnau.
We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services.

Our organisation is made up of talented and committed people across Aotearoa from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. About our group and team
We use information, insights and service design functions to help the three Te Mahau frontline groups design and deliver services for our sector. We service and support the frontline groups and play an integration role between the enabling functions and our frontline services.
Our group provides nationally consistent service design, practice guidance and systems to support the integrated teams led by Directors of Education providing flexible and responsive services.
We deliver national resourcing functions, including inclusive learning support, and national regulatory functions.
Our group consists of what was previously National Office Sector Enablement and Support (SE&S), Parent Information and Community Intelligence (PICI) and Evidence, Data and Knowledge (EDK) teams, excluding the Chief Economist position.
The Education Network team is responsible for making sure the school network is in the best shape and equipped to offer the best quality of education for every New Zealander. Our national and regional staff keep an eye on where the network needs to move and adapt to meet the growing needs of Äkonga/learners and their whÄnau.
MŠtēnei tūranga | About this role
The Learning Support Lead Adviser is a key role within the Education Network team focused on supporting and advising on substantial pieces of work nationally to plan for and develop the specialist and fundholder school network.
Some of your responsibilities will include supporting high level strategy and planning for responding to national growth and demand in the specialist school network, providing oversight on the specialist school work programme and preparing maps and plans to support planning and provision of specialist schools, particularly focusing on inclusion of students with high and complex needs.

You will have a strong background in senior or lead advisory roles where you have supported high level strategy development, managed projects and contributed to the design and implementation of strategic and operational procedures. You will also be a strong communicator who is confident to test ideas and concepts with others.
