We are seeking a Learning Assistant to join our Learning Enhancement Team.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with primary aged students, is enthusiastic and can work as part of a team. The role provides support to and works alongside a Year 6 student who requires assistance to engage fully in his learning. Qualifications, training and/or experience in working with students with special educational needs would be an advantage.

Qualifications and Experience

• Learning Assistant experience preferred 
• Relevant qualifications would be an advantage

The Learning Assistant will:

• Work with a specific student individually or in small groups under teacher supervision.
• Build trusting relationships with the student.
• Assists the student to stay on task, build self-management strategies and increase independence.
• Record information about the student and his work as required by the teacher and/or SENCO.
• Contribute to the Learning Enhancement team through clear communication and building positive relationships with colleagues.
• Preserve confidentiality for staff, students and their families
• Attend meetings when necessary
