A bit about your role;

Based in Albany but covering the wider Auckland region, Downer NZ has an opportunity an experienced Water Leading hand to join our existing water-mains renewals team on the Watercare Maintenance contract.

The primary role of the Water Leading Hand will be the onsite management of water-main renewal projects. This will require the supervision of staff carrying out this projects work so that it meets contract specifications and client expectations. The Leading Hand will be expected to be involved in organising, directing and controlling activities and operations of staff to ensure that work is completed to the satisfaction of customers and all targets (productivity, quality and safety) are met. The Leading Hand will be expected to work ‘hands on’ and at to also provide training and development for team members if required. Our primary work hours are between 7AM to 5PM during the weekdays, with the option of working weekends and overtime also available.

A bit about you;

You will have previous experience with the Water Industry and will bring with you;

• Proven experience and an interest in Water Reticulation
• A full driver's licence and class 2 HT licence preferred
• Digger experience an advantage
• Ability to Communicate
• Risk Awareness
• Highly Responsible
• Experience of dealing with the public
• Computer savvy
