Lead DevOps Engineer
The Lead Engineer provides leadership and direction on the implementation and performance of best practice devops engineering services for the delivery of the customer aligned product portfolio in support of the strategic vision. A key member of the Product Delivery Team, you will lead the CI/CD/CT Engineering Practice, and responsible for the devops engineering strategy, policy and direction for Product Delivery.
The product delivery function will include the development, engineering, quality assurance and security of products to ensure the services are delivered against agreed Service Level Agreements, Enterprise Architecture and product and platform release cycles. The function will include the use of contemporary methods and tools to implement product changes in line with business expectation and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- This role will be seen as the Head of DevOps Engineering and be an opportunity to be CI/CD Architect, with the view to guide the transition of People, Process & Technology in this domain.
- Management of transition of services for vendors to internal resources
- Responsible for recommending any changes to toolchains to internal architecture forums
- Management of any transition of services and/or uplift of services using DevOps toolchain
- Define & reporting on key metrics to Senior Manager, Product Delivery to engineering maturity and adoption.
- Guide the DevOps Engineers and build a practice with Policy and Procedures.
- Orchestrate and automate solutions to provide "self-service" solutions to development teams (inc' Test Automation Services)
Experience & Skills Required
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or substantial experience.
- ITIL v3/4 and Agile/DevOps Qualification/s
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, leading teams to deliver strategically aligned technology solutions to business priorities.
- Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring Senior Leaders in Development methodologies
- Proven leadership, communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills including coaching, facilitation, influencing, negotiation and liaison skills, and the ability to adapt these to a diverse range of stakeholders and contexts.
- Significant experience in enterprise application systems analysis and development, including:
- Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation, Documentation and Support with a thorough understanding of the Application Delivery Lifecycle.
- Significant experience in the major technologies deployed within the Product Delivery environment, including contemporary solutions such as Salesforce and related claims, case and customer relationship management services
