Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity

We have opportunities for Advisors to join the Investment Portfolios teams in the Regional Partnerships and Operations Puni.

The Advisor will contribute to the delivery of outcomes with a strong focus on building relationships, and work as part of a team to deliver effective investments across a portfolio of investment funds.

The Advisor is expected to develop and maintain a network across Te Puni Kōkiri. They will work with colleagues to develop and assess proposals for funding, and help to monitor the performance of both the fund and investment partners. They will work with the regional network and the directorate to identify performance issues and risks.

We are looking for people who:

• Have great communication and interpersonal skills
• Can work quickly and accurately
• Can use their own initiative
• Have some experience in government roles or similar
• Can work collaboratively and flexibly as the work arises.

To be successful you will have:

• A high standard of written and verbal communication
• Strong critical reasoning
• Understanding of due diligence, proposal assessment, and contract management
• The ability to identify, build and actively manage significant relationships, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences
• Understanding of government and the public service and public sector processes
• Willingness to champion effective use of planning and project management disciplines to support your work.

Preferred:

• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Experience in working with whānau, hapÅ«, iwi, Māori organisations and communities
• Comfort in working in a tikanga / kaupapa Māori environment
• Some fluency in Te reo Māori is of benefit. Training and development in this space will be available.
