The Fiscal Reporting team, within the Office of the Government Accountant has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Systems Accountant to join its dynamic and highly skilled team.  We provide financial leadership to the public sector.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

As Junior Systems Accountant, you will assist in the administration of a key IT system that produces the financial statements and forecasts for the Government, ensuring things run smoothly. You will also have excellent customer service skills and be the key contact for internal and external users, in your role running the helpdesk.

Ō pūmanawa | About You

  • An understanding of collaborative ways of working with a desire to be part of an efficient supportive team
  • A demonstrated ability to manage key stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A can-do attitude with a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Programming experience with SQL, or a basic understanding of SQL or a mathematical/analytical approach desirable, but not essential
  • Public Sector experience is desirable, but not essential.
