Riedel NZ, based in Dunedin, New Zealand is looking to hire a talented and motivated Junior / Graduate candidate to join our Team as a Junior Frontend Developer.

Riedel NZ is a R&D hub for Riedel Communications, Managed Technologies Division. We provide event IT solutions, for major events such as the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cups or our latest success story, the 36th America's Cup. The Global Riedel Communications group develop, manufacture, and distribute pioneering real-time fibre-based and wireless audio and video transmission systems, intercom services, data and communications for broadcast, pro-audio for global events, sports, theatre, and security applications worldwide. Riedel Communications headquarters is located in Wuppertal, Germany and employs over 600 people at 20 locations (including Sydney, London, Tokyo, Montreal and Dunedin) in Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America.

About the Role:

• Collaborate within a tight-knit, local team of developers / designers to maintain web applications
• Work directly with web mapping and GIS Systems
• Test and update web applications for continued modernisation to React
• Support the development team of all stages of the UX, interface component design from conception through to execution

Who are you?
You are recent graduate / junior techie, enthusiastic to work in fast paced environment with an excellent style of communication and the ability to work quickly, effectively and learn from those around you.

Required Expertise:

• BSC Computer Science or similar, or proven technical experience in a closely related discipline
• Experience working in a professional software development environment is desired but not essential
• Experience / project work across TypeScript / JavaScript / React

Experience or project work across any of the following would also be very beneficial: React, state management approaches, a good understanding of maths and geometry principles, and unit test driven development.

• Curious and enjoy keeping up to date with the latest advances in technology
• Effectively communicate and take on direction from Senior team members
• Team player that fits the personality and basic setting of an international team and has the ability for cross-domain thinking and willingness to collaborate closely with other functions
• Strong ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and have superb attention to detail and work to the highest standard
