What is the opportunity?
As a Developer, you will have the opportunity to work with Digital Workplace Solutions team within RBC Technology and Operations. Being a part of Digital Workplace Solutions, you will have the opportunity to work with Future of Work applications and reporting within the RBC and Emerging Technology within Corporate Systems.
What will you do?
Utilizing the latest technologies available, designing, and building solutions to meet business needs
Constantly seek out better ways to do things, new tools, new technologies, new processes
Develop and maintain APIs and all supporting code - design and build micro-services
Develop and maintain Frontend web applications and web components
Utilize technologies like Java Spring Boot, Nodejs, Elasticsearch, Angular2+, Postman, MS SQL database etc.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability - design highly scalable and extensible products
Knowledge of DevOps CI/CD approaches
Knowledge of GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Maven and/or other Build Servers, Software Deployment Tools – preferably UCD
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Must have working knowledge with Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns
Must have working knowledge with the following: Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, SCSS, Batch & Shell Scripts, Python
Must have working knowledge with the following backend and frontend technologies: Java Spring Boot Framework, Nodejs, Angular2+, RESTful APIs, Authentication, SSL, SSO
Must have working knowledge with GitHub, Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ Idea, Postman, Azure Data Studio or SSMS, SSH Shell, SFTP etc.
Basic working knowledge following operating systems: Windows Servers and UNIX/Linux servers
Working knowledge with one or more of the following databases/datastores: MS SQL, Elasticsearch, Mongo DB
Graduate from a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, engineering, or technology. Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative methods
Nice-to-have
Knowledge with the following tools and technologies is an asset: OpenShift Containers, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Bluemix, Jenkins, Urban Code Deploy, APIGEE
Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML)
Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, LDAP, Windows shared folders, SMTP Servers
Ability to hand-code all components, as well as Cross Browser development experience
