The Candidate
As Order Taker, you will join a committed IRD team, driven with the intent of delivering ‘FIVE-star’ F&B experiences to an international diaspora in the heart of vibrant Dubai and Zurich.

We are looking for a natural self-starter who demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities, can focus on, and execute, tasks with a sharp eye for detail. An outgoing, people-friendly personality with an ability to think ‘on your feet’ during changing situations is also essential.
You’ll work closely with the management team to develop constantly evolving service goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Works in close cooperation with key service departments such as Kitchen, Stewarding, Front Office Housekeeping, Engineering, Laundry, etc.
- Attends training sessions as per instructions of the immediate Supervisor on various processes and standards i.e. guest care, telephone manners, up-selling, entering guestrooms, etc.
- Works as per Room Service duty schedule
- Ensures that under no circumstances are the telephones unattended and practices impeccable telephone manners at all times
- Performs cashier duties, as and when required
- Takes reservations for other outlets during break times, as and when required
- Works (hands-on at all times) with the team to prepare the daily service mis-en-place
- Observes the cleanliness and maintenance of the assigned Room Service area and operating equipment
- Assures the well-being of all guests by maintaining a close and friendly, yet discrete contact
- Refers guest complaints directly to the immediate person in-charge / Room Service Manager
- Directly involved in the order taking and order placing process while dealing with guest requests and takes orders, courteously, efficiently and promptly
- Attends all meetings and briefing sessions to maintain open communication within the assigned team
- Has an in-depth knowledge of all menus and ongoing promotions in all outlets and gives recommendations to guests upon request
- Is able to upsell key items off the menu, as and when appropriate
- Flexible to work in other areas when required to do so by the immediate Supervisor
- Referring incoming calls for other departments (such as engineering, housekeeping, spa) to the concerned department.
- To report any equipment failures/problems to the Maintenance Department
- To pass any maintenance requests to the Maintenance Department
- To participate in any Training/Developments schemes as recommended by management
- To have a complete understanding of, and to adhere to, FIVE Hotels and Resorts policy relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety
- Be familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for the department
- To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Conducts a proper handover during shift change

- Previous experience in the hospitality Industry is preferable

- The ability to work independently with good interpersonal skills
- Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is mandatory
