Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for an International Administrator to join the Student Experience and Wellbeing team (Te Pūrengi) in a permanent full-time role. You will be a student-facing super-star supporting the Student Experience and Wellbeing team and wider Wellington University International achieve its goals by providing a positive student experience and supporting the retention of international students through consistent and excellent service, efficient administration and project and event support.

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Digital enquiries management on CRM
  • Frontline services and reception management
  • Administrative support for the International Student Experience team
  • Events and orientation assistance
  • Fulfil all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the legal obligations under Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be an energetic superstar with a passion for helping support international students from a wide range of backgrounds to join the International Student Support teams. You will be a positive dynamic individual with superb customer service skills, patience, culturally sensitive, inclusive and the ability to work under pressure. You will be friendly and client focused balancing competing priorities with a "can do" focus. Most of all you will be open to new people and ideas.

Key requirements include the following: 

  • Reception, administration or other customer service experience
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently in a busy frontline environment
  • High proficiency in English language communication skills (oral, written, listening, cross-cultural)
  • Good Microsoft Office Suite literacy
  • Ability to respond proactively to a variety of situations and to an ethnically diverse range of people in a culturally sensitive way
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • The ability to meet deadlines
