The opportunity

 

We are seeking HR Manager – Employee Relations and HR Projects Focus (Assistant Director rank) to join the Talent Specialist Team. This will be a full-time role (although part-time would also be considered).  Location of the role is flexible.

 

In this role you will support a high-performance culture by working closely with the business in managing high risk issues such as workplace investigations, ill-health, redundancies and restructures, some senior performance issues and any other employee relations matters. You will also work closely with the Oceania Service Line HR Business Partners and other Talent Centres of Excellence in the project management and roll out of cyclical people processes for Oceania including but not limited to Annual Performance and Remuneration Review, EY People Pulse and whole of firm Talent initiatives.
 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Partnering with people managers to create sustained solutions to individual employee matters
  • Balancing the firm’s commercial requirements whilst proactively managing risks.
  • Managing all high risk / complex employee relations matters including:
    • Redundancies / restructures
    • Disciplinary management
    • Workplace investigations
    • Employee ill-health issues; and
    • Harassment, bullying and sexual harassment matters
  • Project Management of process reviews, EY macro process projects, acquisitions and whole of firm Talent initiatives as required
  • Building the firm’s capability in appropriately managing employment relations matters by educating Partners, people managers and HRBPs in employment relations processes and legislation 
  • Coaching and mentoring HR Advisors 
  • Actively participating in projects to develop new processes and process improvements

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

To be successful in this role you will have a passion for helping stakeholders navigate complex and sensitive employee relations matters with care and compassion, whilst balancing risk and achieving a commercial outcome.
 

To qualify for the role you must have 

 

  • Employee relations case management experience
  • HR project management skills
  • Proven ability to influence business leaders and manage diverse stakeholder groups
     

Ideally, you’ll also have


This role would also suit someone with an employment law background looking to move into a HR role.
