We are looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to lead our outstanding Rainbow Place team.

Rainbow Place is the only Hospice service in New Zealand to provide services to children/tamariki, including inpatient respite care, in-home respite care, recreational day programmes and holiday programmes, counselling, social work and grief support. We are on a journey to extend and enhance services to ensure our children and their families/whaanau get the absolute best care and support.

As a part of the Rainbow Place clinical team the Clinical Nurse Manager will lead the service strategically and operationally to ensure the children/tamariki and their families/whaanau receive responsive, holistic, coordinated care and support. The team work closely with the DHB paediatric services, primary care, and community organisations.

You will grow and develop an extended, cohesive and responsive nurse-led and health care assistant supported service to meet current and future needs. This includes Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Practitioner development and new models of care. This role also has the flexibility to do clinical practice and skill maintenance and development as desired.

Ultimately the successful candidate with have:
• a post graduate qualification in nursing
• significant clinical nursing experience preferably in the specialty of palliative care, children’s palliative care, or life-limiting conditions
• strong leadership, relational skills and a passion for nursing
• the ability to be strategic and innovative
• knowledge of, and experience of a community nursing service
• knowledge about health reforms and ideas about evolving a service
• involvement in national issues, or willingness to be involved
• excellent communication, coaching and teamwork values and skills
• a sound knowledge of tikanga, Te Tiriti principles, and evidence of reducing inequity for Maaori
