We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated HSE Manager to join the HSE Team!
This successful HSE Manager applicant will be required to gain an understanding and appreciation of our business activities, whilst confidently driving the implementation of ongoing improvements to safe work practices and systems throughout our company.
This will be a full-time role and an attractive salary package will be given to the right candidate.
About the Company
The Company forms part of a diverse group of business units specializing in Total Product Management for its customers. Currently operating throughout Australia, New Zealand and China and is a 3PL partner of choice for many International, National, and local businesses.
Role Duties:
- Maintain the company's compliance with all applicable New Zealand Standards and Legislation.
- A key member for point of contact regarding HSE related matters, providing accurate and useful advice and support aligned to policies and relevant legislative guidelines.
- Undertaking and overseeing HSE audit activities (internal and external).
- Identifying hazards, conducting incident investigations, and providing corrective action recommendations.
- Contributing to planning and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Overseeing all plant, equipment, vehicle, and compliance standards and review all HSE documentation and systems.
- Communicate the company’s HSE policy and culture both internally and externally.
- Participate with all internal and external audit programs where required.
Ideally your experience and qualifications will include:
- Exposure to/experience in DG transport, logistics, and warehousing operations (MHF an advantage).
- Experience with managing regulatory bodies (WorkSafe, MPI).
- Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic team environment.
- High level communication skills and people skills.
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Initiative-taking and can work with minimal supervision.
- Display and encourage empathy and leadership qualities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent an advantage).
- Incident investigation training (either internal or external an advantage).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (an advantage).
- Current driver’s license with clean driving record.
- You will have a strong understanding and working knowledge of legislation, standards, and codes relevant to our industry as you will be required to provide specialist advice and assistance in all areas of Workplace Health and Safety.
- Willing to obtain police check and undergo a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and meet ongoing random testing.
