Job Description

As a Health and Safety Inspector - Investigations you will bring a high level of integrity, excellent judgement, and decision-making skills. You should have an aptitude for learning and be resilient and prepared to work as part of a team. Being able to build rapport with all stakeholders is essential to the role as you’ll be dealing with a wide range of people. Our investigations inspectors manage cases by investigating incidents and events where people have been hurt or a fatality may have occurred. All our inspectors enforce the law when they see non-compliance so being firm and fair are essential quantities.

The work is varied and interesting, but at times can be challenging as you will be exposed to traumatic events, files, photos and statements. Professional supervision is available. However, please do contact us to be sure this role is right for you before applying if you are unsure.

Ngā herenga - Requirements of the role:

  • Be a NZ/Australian citizen or NZ Permanent Resident/Resident
  • Have a full driver license with an ability to drive a manual car
  • Show commitment to follow policies and procedures
  • Can write business documents and reports
  • Be computer literate
  • Be flexible to work across locations and once warranted, and be rostered for after-hours and weekend work when required

What experience do you need?

Ideally, we’re looking to hear from people who already have experience in investigations across all industries whether in a health and safety space, another regulator or law enforcement. If you don’t have this experience in health and safety assessments, audits, or investigations but you believe you have the right skillset to become an investigator, we’re keen to hear from you too.
