The Role

The position is full-time, and while HQ is in East Tamaki, Auckland, we are expanding in Sydney so welcome applications for either location. Either way, the ability to travel is a must.

Your main responsibilities will revolve around understanding, optimising and ensuring operational excellence in:

• People & Culture
• Recruitment & Deployments
• Company policies and HR procedures
• Facilities & equipment (e.g. IT)
• Compliance & certifications
• Health & safety administration
• Internal comms

You’ll likely become the go-to person for key initiatives and special projects.

You’ll lead and develop our Ops team, spend quality time with Mint’s C-suite, and support other team leads in achieving their goals from an operational perspective. You’ll also be developing programmes to support the performance and growth of all Mint staff.

Potential growth opportunities as the company expands include:

• Supply chain management
• Customer support
• Management of Mint-owned plant operations
• Develop and execute strategy as an active member of the company executive

 Skills and Experience

As a company that was born in a dingy basement, everyone at Mint has a “can do, no fuss” attitude and our Head of Operations will be no different. Our team of ~30 comprises a diverse range of technical and commercial skill sets and backgrounds, so you’ll have strong management skills that allow you to gain the respect of and further enable such a talented bunch.

Our ideal candidate will have as many of the following qualities as possible:

• Previous experience in operations at a start-up (this is not your first dance!)
• Eye for detail, superb standard of written work
• Prior team management/HR experience
• Recruitment/growth experience
• IT systems experience (especially relating to modern systems)
• H&S administration experience
• A resourceful multitasker, never accepting an unsatisfactory answer
• Clear communicator that can inspire others to a task
• Be at peace with ever-evolving environments, can manage ambiguity to achieve desired outcomes
• And finally - an accomplished fire-fighter (metaphorically speaking). Summer is coming…
