Description

Local farmer is seeking the services of EXPERIENCED and COMPETENT fork lift drivers for a short term contract in Hanwood, NSW in a citrus packing shed. Work will commence immediately. Workers must be available to work up to 7 days per week depending on weather and market demands. 

The role includes but is not limited to:

• A commitment to Monday-Friday plus some Saturday and Sunday mornings
• Correctly and safely operating the Forklifts
• Moving pallets based on lists, order sheets, verbal instruction and observation of requirements on the floor
• Ensure product is handled properly, stored efficiently to ensure optimum temperature control, stacked correctly and wrapped if necessary
• Load and unload products and supplies on and off of trucks
• Meet deadlines
• Ensure proper packing and maintain quality standards
• Help maintain general orderliness and cleanliness of the packing shed area, storage areas, coolers and other work areas
• Assist staff on how to pack, quality requirements and dispatch methods
• Assist with maintaining inventory/stock levels, involved in replenishment

The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Have an appropriate amount of prior experience operating a forklift
2. Be self motivated and able to work in a fast paced work environment
3. Prior experience with packing potatoes
4. Work practically and manually using skills and knowledge
5. Able to cope with the physical demands of the position
6. Able to work within a team, lead a team or autonomously
7. Mechanical aptitude
8. Current Forklift Licence is essential
9. Previous experience within a high volume warehouse or packing shed advantageous
10. Good communication and organisational skills
11. Understanding and knowledge of OH&S
