The Role

Based in our head office in West Perth, the Group Financial Accountant will support the General Manager Group. The role is hands-on and responsible for all Group reporting and consolidation.

About the role

As a Group Financial Accountant, you will use your time management skills be involved in a range of initiatives that will support our process improvements and Finance Integrations of acquisitions.  

• Managing and supporting month end accounting activities
• Preparing monthly journals relating to debt, intangibles, foreign exchange and other non-operational items
• Preparing of the Group consolidated financial statements for the annual year end audit and half year review and ensure completeness of disclosures.
• Audit files preparation of the Group consolidated financial statements
• Consolidating of the Group budget for the management reporting pack
• Managing of the monthly variance analysis and providing commentary on the financial performance
• Liaising with the external Auditors and taking accountability over account reconciliations for internal and external audit processes
• Preparing of the Group Reporting Packs in particular the balance sheet and cashflow including analytics for significant movement in line with respective reporting deadlines
• Supervising of the junior accounts staff and review of their work
• Acting as a key point of contact for finance teams globally and wider finance team to provide additional accounting support as required e.g. dividends, mobilisation of contracts, competition accounts etc.

What you’ll need

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting is required
• CA/CPA qualification is preferred
• Strong understanding of controls
• Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks while achieving deadlines
• Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast moving organization, satisfying needs of diverse constituents, under the pressure of competing priorities
• Excellent inter-personal relationship skills and the ability to work with individuals of all levels
• Maintain confidentiality of internal financial and operational data
