Job Description

ACCIONA are seeking to engage a Group Account to be based in Melbourne. This position reports to the Group Finance Controller and is an autonomous role where you will undertake many of the day-to-day finance tasks required to ensure the highest standards of financial control, compliance and reporting across the Group, and maximise the efficiency and timeliness of Group accounting processes. 

You will have close and regular interaction with divisional Finance Managers and other staff.  Above all, your determination to prepare and maintain the highest standard of financial accounting aspects and play a valuable coordinating role across the Group’s finance operations will ensure that this is a challenging and rewarding role.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform financial reporting, auditing, and record-keeping in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Delivering timely and accurate monthly financial reports, including high quality balance sheet reconciliations and cashflows
  • Assist in budget and forecast preparation and associated variance analysis and cost tracking
  • Carrying out financial investigations, drafting reports, and advising on taxation matters
  • Review and approve of bank reconciliations prepared by Group Finance and journals prepared by AP team
  • Support control over intercompany transactions including issuing intercompany AR invoices and maintaining reconciliations
  • Maintain prepayments schedule and enter amortization journals
  • Maintain the Asset Finance schedules and accounts
  • Attendance to routine monthly recharge, accrual and wages journals (inc.: AGGS recharge fee, audit fee accrual, FBT accrual, AGH line fee accrual, Payroll deductions, wages job costs, OH wages)
  • Actively contribute to the development of internal systems and processes
  • Other ad-hoc accounting tasks as required
  • Comply with and promote Company policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Other general duties as reasonably directed.

Required Skills And Competencies

Accounting Degree or similar is essential for this role with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Salary on offer is between $70k - $75k base + Super (depending on level of experience).
