Project Administrator. Inlucem, Architectural Lighting Design.

Meeting our clients’ expectations is our highest goal which we achieve through assisting our clients from the initial design to the completion of the installation, while addressing all project requirements such as: 

  • The design process, from conceptualization to generation of lighting plans. 
  • The development of technical information (electrical diagrams, lighting specs)
  • The supply of lighting material, incl. liaising with NZ and International importers, project management, incl. liaising with all trades involved.
  • And last but not least final adjustments: aiming, filtering, setting lighting control systems, etc.

About the role: 

You are a motivated and energetic individual who can provide support in the form of project administration to our small, passionate business.

You will be administering projects which will include: 

  • Assisting with quotes and invoicing customers.
  • Processing client’s orders, ordering goods and liaising with suppliers, checking in, organising and allocating inwards goods.
  • Creation and management of a tracking document to be up-to-date and in control of the project status, stages and adjustments,
  • Keeping records of the entire process (payments, processing of lighting material as received, stored and delivered, modifications or additions).
  • Assisting in the generation of technical documentation that completes the Lighting Design (electrical diagrams, graphic references and lighting specifications).
  • Assisting in updating technical documentation resulting from revised proposals, modifications or final adjustments.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with the following experience and qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of AutoCAD 2D. Knowledge of other CAD software such as REVIT or ARCHICAD will be an advantage for the candidate.  
  • Familiarity with the accounting platform XERO is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of DIALUX, lighting design software, will be an advantage but not imperative.

Knowledge of up-to-date lighting technology will be highly valued as will basic knowledge such as: 

  • Lighting terms and units of measurement.
  • Particularities of different light sources on the market, such as colour temperature, efficacy, life span, operation principle, installation requirements and typical application.
  • Lighting control systems such as DALI, CASAMBI, etc.
  • Essential considerations for good lighting in non-mathematical terms.

We are offering initially a part-time position of 20hours per week, but the hours could be increased hours could be increased for the right candidate depending on suitability for both, the candidate and Inlucem. The role will be revised and reassessed after a trial period of 3 months. The role is based in our home-office in Brooklyn, Wellington.
