GPU Kernel Driver Engineer
The Role:
Our team builds the core software that powers Radeon GPUs for gamers, designers, content creators, and more. The C/C++ driver code written by our developers is at the heart of an exceptionally sophisticated software stack used by millions world-wide. If you write clean and robust code, understand the intricacies of operating systems and computer architecture, and want to know what happens under the hood to make a GPU tick, this is the role for you. Our engineers are specialists in software and hardware, always challenged, never pigeonholed, and are a fundamental to every Radeon product, feature, and driver.
Key Responsibilities:
As part of the greater Windows Kernel Mode Driver Team, KMD Solutions engineers:
- Bring-up creative Radeon Graphics desktop and mobile gaming products, such as the 5700XT and Radeon VII, as well as Radeon Pro Graphics desktop and mobile workstation products, such as the W5500 and WX9100
- Develop a differentiating software feature set for the PC Gaming market, such as VR, ReLive, Enhanced Sync, CrossFire, Eyefinity, and more
- Develop a differentiating software feature set for the Professional Graphics market, such as VR, ReLive, ProRender, RAS, and more
- Work with Microsoft to introduce graphics driver support for the latest Windows operating systems
- Deliver AMD's Radeon Adrenalin Software, with focus on enhancing stability, performance, power, and security.
Preferred Experience:
- Is a proven C++ programmer and problem-solver
- Is an excellent communicator and collaborator
- Understands Object-Oriented design
- Can surmount the steepest learning curves
Has some experience with at least one of the following:
- Very large code bases
- Kernel debugging and driver development
- Hardware programming and bringup
- Operating systems and computer architecture
- GPU graphics/compute APIs: Vulkan, Open CL/GL, DirectX, DirectCompute, etc.
- PC building
Academic Credentials:
Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree
