General Accountant

Location: North Parramatta, Western Suburbs

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced general accountant to join our team at North Parramatta.

The successful candidate will have:

• Business/Commerce Degree Majoring in Accounting
• At least 2 years proven post graduate experience in public practice
• Audit experience essential – member of a team conducting compliance and substantive testing and SMSF financial and compliance testing
• Ability to prepare advice regarding elements of taxation including income tax, GST, payroll tax and capital gains tax issues as faced by small to medium enterprise client base
• Ability to prepare Company, Individual, Trust and Partnership tax returns using MYOBAE software (essential)
• Ability to review client data in order to complete BAS, IAS statements, FBT returns and annual GST returns 
• Experience in preparation of financial statements for SME & NFP organisations
• Assist in year end tax planning with clients
• IT skills in MS Office (eg Word, Excel), Xero & MYOB & Agile Audit (essential)
• Ability to liaise, on clients behalf, with government agencies including ATO and OSR regarding outstanding taxation matters and resolution of possible disputes
• Confidence, initiative and organisational abilities
• Good communication skills both written and verbal with a high attention to detail required
• Salary package is commensurate with proven experience with an anticipated range of approx. $60,000 - $65,000 incl super
