What is the role?

The Officer will primarily support the Futures Client Services team to ensure efficient and accurate daily processing of all client margin/collateral settlements, position management and client inquiries.  The Officer will cross train and provide support to the clearing team which is responsible for the proper clearance and allocation of all exchange traded futures and options on futures.  Client interaction occurs on a daily basis. The officer will directly deal with the clients operations and trade teams in order to facilitate the daily processing of margin/collateral settlements, positions management and client inquiries.

What will you do?

Develop an in-depth understanding of the margin and settlement requirements surrounding futures and options products along with the systems used to manage the settlement process (RISC, SOLA, TMS, SEALS, BTS, Bankwire, JEFE)

On a daily basis verify the accuracy of the processing of Futures trades, daily cash margin payments/receipts (wire transfers, ADP postings, collateral transfers)

Facilitate the onboarding of new clients – working with client, sales, client implementation team, along with other operations and technology departments

Manage queries into giveins, giveups, ensure accuracy in payments processing/receipt of funds.  Maintain responsibility for EGUS, DOCS and related processes

Spearhead business requirement gathering and user acceptance testing for system upgrades and database conversions involving RISC, SEALs, and other core systems.

Become proficient with exchange fees and rates.  Specifically, ensure a full understanding of Montreal Exchange and CDCC fee and incentive programs.

Cross-train and be fully functional on various Futures Clearing functions, including trade validation, allocations, and reconciliations.

Work with internal technology partners to optimize the capabilities of SEALS, RISC, to enable efficient straight through processing for clients

Maintain/Update operational procedures related to these functions on an ongoing basis (PRIMA)

Ensure that daily, monthly and quarterly procedures, as detailed in the group’s PRIMA site and Standing Orders are strictly observed.

Perform large position reporting (Montreal Exchange) and maintain upkeep of OCR reporting modules

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)

Be accountable, self-driven, committed, and motivated - with excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization across multiple areas (sales, finance, technology, operations)

Completed Business Undergraduate Degree – followed by 3-5 years of Capital Markets Operations experience

Intermediate Excel skills along with the ability to learn new technology

Solid understanding of procedures and operational controls as they relate to systems and workflows

Nice-to-have

CSC / Series 3/ CFA 1
