Summary of the role

We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified experienced mental health practitioner, to join our mental health team supporting students with complex and/or enduring mental health difficulties. The suitable candidate will have substantial experience in assessment and managing a caseload of clients with mental health difficulties.

The role involves close liaison and joint working across the Wellbeing Service to support students with a range of disabilities alongside liaison with other university staff and external agencies (e.g. Student Finance, Access Centres, GP, statutory mental health services and voluntary sector agencies). You will also be committed to the advancement of inclusive practice and widening access to this important student community.

What we are looking for

You will need to be a qualified and highly experienced mental health professional, with a core professional training in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy (for example), and accredited with their relevant professional body e.g. HCPC/NMC/BABCP/BACP/UKCP. You will have significant experience in supporting individuals with mental health disabilities and a real interest in managing complex difficulties.

The role involves close liaison and joint working across the Wellbeing Service to support students with a range of disabilities alongside liaison with other university staff and external agencies (e.g. Student Finance, Access Centres, GP, statutory mental health services and voluntary sector agencies). You will also be committed to the advancement of inclusive practice and widening access to this important student community.
