Responsibilities
Benefits Program Design and Adaptation
- Identifies benefits issues, process break downs, and design issues and recommends new benefits opportunities.
- Interprets business needs and compliance requirements. Operationalizes complex legal guidance and analyzes competitive market data for a benefits program. Uses this insight and works with external partners to improve design of programs.
- Creates materials to explain proposed changes associated with benefits programs. Receives approval from management for socialization plans and overall costs of proposed changes.
Supplier Selection & Management
- Leads supplier evaluation, requests for proposals, selection, and on-boarding for their areas by executing screening processes involving interviews, annual reviews, and contracting in partnership with other groups (e.g., Procurement, Corporate Functions Engineering, Supplier Security, Privacy Assurance).
- Maintains or improves vendor performance by monitoring and identifying performance issues. Addresses supplier-delivery issues and executes solutions to performance issues.
- Establishes and manages supplier relationships; negotiates competitive service contracts (for new and current suppliers) to define performance targets and deliverables.
Program Management
- Runs a benefits program encompassing annual processes and collateral resources, and ensures that the program supports the business and HR by monitoring progress and results. Adapts to competing demands, market trends, and organizational changes.
- Ensures our internal stakeholders process and procedures are adequate and allowing for sustainable delivery of the program. Partners with them on fixing and addressing issues mapped program delivery with HR Shared Service Center, One Payroll, Finance, Compliance, Privacy and Procurement teams.
- Supports complex, high-risk projects. Consults and partners with clients as a subject matter expert to resolve technical issues and make recommendations on improving processes.
- Recommends short- and long-term benefits solutions (e.g., policy adjustments, program corrections, leveraging of existing solutions) to meet business need. Handles complex escalations (e.g., Tier III).
- Manages compliance of benefits programs by incorporating Microsoft philosophy, policies, and procedures, as well as regulatory, governmental, and other external compliance considerations into the development and implementation of business plans. Monitors resources (e.g., web content, toolkits) to maintain compliance.
Regional and Global Benefits Program Implementation
- Builds relationships and partners with internal teams (e.g., IT, Legal, Tax, Communications, HR Services) using up-to-date expertise to integrate plans and materials before and during the benefits program implementation, and for ongoing management. Executes integration and compliance with internal teams' programs and other systems (e.g., compensation, payroll).
- Manages the implementation of a benefits program (e.g., wellness programs, healthcare, family benefits, etc.) within a particular geographic area by reviewing, providing input on, and approving implementation and readiness materials.
- Interacts with internal and external stakeholders to forecast and mitigate legal and regulatory implications of benefits change and readiness plans.
Benefits Excellence
- Establish performance indicators and clarify expectations to achieve consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery, with reference to recognized expertise on policies and procedures across geographies.
- Drive the identification and prioritization of opportunities for improvement within Benefits processes and propose changes to achieve functional consistency.
- Ability to analyze data trends to create insights and lead regional reporting management.
- Provide guidance on rhythm of business, content management and critical escalations to increase agility and incorporate best practices

Required/Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years work experience in HR, Benefits, or related roles
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Sciences, or related field AND 3+ years work experience in HR, Benefits, or related roles
- OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years experience managing a Benefits or Benefits Procurement program.
- 1-2 years project management experience and program design experience.
- Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and executing on sourcing and negotiation of complex engagements and contracts
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple internal partner and supplier relationships.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal direction and collaboratively across multiple functions both externally and internally
- Analytical skills that enable extracting data from a variety of sources, drawing conclusions and translating those into clear opportunities and actions.
- Ability to drive clarity, and deliver results in a fast-paced and highly matrixed environment.
- Customer focused, responsive and action oriented, displaying urgency as required to meet business needs.
