About the role: This is an exciting opportunity for a new role at a new, specialist, Battery Recycling site that is being set up in Sydney. We are seeking a highly experienced and highly qualified, energetic leader to join our Australian team as Site Manager of our new Battery Recycling Operations facility. You will have worked with and have extensive experience with lithium-ion battery technology and assets, together with an in-depth understanding of battery design and safety protocols. To be a success you will thrive on organisation and quality management and be adept at meeting and exceeding KPIs. Reporting into the ANZ General Manager, the role will be pivotal in ensuring the productivity and profitability of the new site whilst aligning with the overall business strategy and providing clear leadership to the team at the battery site.

Main responsibilities of the role: • Oversees the day-to-day operation of battery plant and responsible for the production output, product quality, production targets and on-time delivery • Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers' expectations. • Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. • People and resources management • Improves productivity output through optimum organization of labour, improves work method whilst minimising plant downtime • Implements strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provides a clear sense of direction and focus • Data analysis & reporting to the management • Managing profit & loss of the business • Prepare plant budgeting, expenses and requirement of CAPEX/OPEX • Readily to lead team & “Hands-on” • Champion in various activities related to safety, quality, productivity, innovation, information and data security, supply management, marketing, people management, HR and other deliverables • Develop and drive continuous improvement, operations excellence & cost control initiatives • Support commercial initiatives for new customers’ requirements and audits • Support new and ad-hoc program or initiatives • Coordination between business entities to ensure smooth operations and effective communications • International knowledge sharing with other TES SBS operations globally

Your qualifications and experience: • MUST have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working with lithium-ion and/or EV batteries (design, knowledge, safety protocols) • MUST have BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering • MUST have qualifications and/or experience in Quality Management systems (ISO) and Risk Management • Preferred candidates will have in-depth understanding and hands-on experience with battery testing and research and associated lab facilities • Preferred candidates will have demonstrated commercial acumen and people management skills • Preferred candidates will have technical experience in chemical/battery analysis techniques • Preferred candidates will have experience across a variety of software platforms to enable project management and reporting
