Requirements:
- Skilled Unix Admin/Networking/Server Build experience is required to assist our clients with computer hardware and software setup.
- Required to work on-site (multi location) or via remote connection and assist with hardware installations, software upgrades, systems integrations, and IT-related issues.
- Comprehensive understanding of the concepts, tools and best practices regarding the design and integration of multi-tiered, highly available, scalable infrastructure environments
- In-depth knowledge of interoperability between compute, network and storage elements
- Advanced knowledge of industry best practices, leading vendor architectures and technologies in related areas
- Good understanding of the technology infrastructure life cycle, as well as IT service management, governance and operational practices
Skills:
- SQL Server and Azure SQL Database
- Server hardware (Cisco, Dell, IBM/Lenovo)
- VMware server and desktop virtualization
- Systems management and monitoring tools (SCCM, SCOM, VMware)
- Backup tools and data protection mechanisms
- Orchestration, scripting, and automation tools (PowerShell, Puppet, Python)
- Configuring and managing POS machines
Responsibilities:
- Responding to client support requests.
- Contacting clients to find out the nature of the problem.
- Traveling to the client’s location or connecting via a remote link.
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals like Printers, POS machine and scanners.
- Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software.
- Troubleshooting networking and connection issues.(Network connectivity\Wired\Wireless\DHCP\Subnets\VLANs\Routers\Firewalls)
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/ OS environments (VMware, ESX setup, administration and troubleshooting)
- Prepare accurate and timely reports
- Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals.
- Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. software developers\Application Team)
- Ensure all issues are properly logged
- Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time.
