Key Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the continued evolution and operational performance of our video network platforms in addition to the day-to-day management and continued coaching & mentoring of a high performing team of engineers.

Within Video Networking, we’re confronting and solving complex and high-stakes challenges. Our teams support all aspects of video connectivity within Bell. You will play a part in operating, designing and architecting networks that simply cannot fail, must scale, and can never constrain growth or innovation.

Job Duties / Accountabilities

• Build the next-generation Video Network to support our OTT platforms.

• Experience within Cisco/Juniper/Alcatel-Lucent environments (Routing Switching, Service Provider, Data Center)

• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols, routing algorithms, and security mechanisms 

• In-depth knowledge of large-scale enterprise networking solutions

• Support the VDOC & BellTV Teams on network changes and troubleshooting

• Work with support teams to resolve network outage and service impacting situations

• Attend bridges and engage the appropriate support team(s) for critical impacts and long duration outages.

• Prepare MOP and support network change management activities during change windows

• Coach, mentor and train the Video Network team

• The successful candidate may be required to perform other tasks. 

Essential Qualifications / Skills

• University degree in engineering or computer sciences. 
• 5+ years experience in network engineering
• 2+ years experience within the cyber-security space
• Sound knowledge on networking (TCP/IP, routing protocols and principles)
• Strong technical background with excellent knowledge of Service Provider systems and networks 
• Strong understanding of Video Networks, PIM, IGMP, Multicast etc.
• Experience with Next Generation Firewall solutions (Cisco, Fortinet) is required.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
• High tolerance to ambiguity and ability to adapt in a fast-evolving environment
• Strong leadership abilities and business acumen
• Strong dedication to customer focus
• Excellent synthesis and analysis capacity

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates of industry recognized technical certifications/designations will be preferred such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE)
