ABOUT THE JOB

Responsibilities of a Mechanical Engineering Technician Lead small service teams in the field to perform regulatory inspections & mechanical servicing on various makes of lifeboat, davit & winch arrangements in accordance with the relevant governing body/OEM. Work autonomously in remote locations, specifically offshore oil & gas facilities, vessels at sea, in port and dry dock environments. Travel on short notice for durations typically between 1 day to 2 weeks. Ensure excellent customer service at all times, being the Lead Lifeboat and Davit Service Engineer. Develop site-specific work procedures, perform tasks in keeping with OEM/SOLAS/ Classification Society regulations to ensure compliance and compile reports. Communicate findings to the relevant classification societies, owners and equipment manufacturers. Ensure that all work is undertaken in a safe manner, comply with company policies & procedures and provide strong leadership. Troubleshoot and perform work on vessels detained by port state authorities by using your expert knowledge of lifeboat/ Davit systems. Undertake and complete workshop and site tasks to the best of your ability. Work in accordance with the company's HSEQ policies. Report all non-conformances to Supervisor. Other duties as per requested by the Supervisor.

Ensure the safety and welfare of all personnel, plant and company property. Promote the QHSE management system and encourage improvement opportunities to be raised. Implement directions from the Management. Contribute toward continuous improvement of QHSE Management System.
