Position Summary

The Network Services Associate is accountable for supporting network access designs for access facilities of either demand or strategic networks. This position may at times also be responsible for creating preliminary designs of access networks (demand or strategic). The Network Services Associate will be primarily focused on supporting the workload of an Access Provisioner or Design and Build Manager with a focus on drawing/designing in GCOMMs, identifying material requirements, assist in obtaining external approvals, network data entry in SAP and recommendation for construction methods.

Critical Qualifications

• Have recently graduated, or will be graduating within this school year (2023), with a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce or Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education and extensive work experience/exposure in Network Access.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills to manage conflicting deadlines
• Initiative for taking on new tasks and process development skills with a demonstrated commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Demonstrated team collaboration
• Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport inside and outside the organization by building relationships with key stakeholders
• Critical thinking skills with demonstrated judgement to know relevant questions to ask to provide recommended problem solutions
• Proven oral and written communication/presentation skills
• Experience with personal computers in a Windows environment including knowledge of MS Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Access Network/telecommunications network and dependencies 
• Knowledge of network access operational end-to-end processes
• Knowledge of key access network systems including SAP & GComms and at least 1 of the following Access Provisioning tools:  AFIRM, CLASS, TecNet, or AutoCAD.
