The Procurement Department’s mission is to create value through its strategic role of providing best-in- class sourcing solutions while improving Bell’s EBITDA and overall financial performance through cost reductions and getting the best value for money form our partners.
We are currently seeking a Director, Procurement Operations, who will be responsible for our e-sourcing strategy development, procurement systems development, training and support, procurement policy development and maintenance, internal procurement performance reporting, corporate credits and discretionary expenses, risk management and day-to-day execution. The Procurement Director drives sourcing programs with a focus on efficiency, effectiveness, commercialization, sustainability, supplier diversity and business continuity.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Services, the Director’s primary responsibilities will be to:
- Ensure production of internal Procurement results on a quarterly basis
- Report the Discretionary expense results to the senior executives on a monthly basis, highlighting any non-compliant spend
- Develop, support and execute the sourcing strategy in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders
- Support special initiatives such as tail spend management and contractor management
- Perform market business intelligence, cost analysis and benchmark studies
- Identify and initiate productivity projects/improved cost efficiencies
- Manage corporate travel policies to reflect the need for cost containment and adherence to the official Bell Travel Policy
- Work collaboratively with the various business units to ensure that they are following proper business practices when purchasing goods and service
- Actively search for innovation ideas of all kinds within the supply base and leverage supplier diversity
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with teams and leaders across the company, responding to their needs while balancing organizational priorities.
- Lead a dynamic team of procurement leaders to ensure all procurement systems and processes are maintained and adhered to while working closely with other Bell leaders within multi-discipline project teams on key initiatives
- Demonstrate leadership and implement ideas that maximize the performance and engagement of the procurement team
Essential Skills/ Competencies:
- 10+ years of leadership experience in procurement
- 5+ years of people management and Leadership experience coaching and mentoring team members
- Bachelor's Degree in in Business Management or related field
- Proven experience in conducting comprehensive vendor analysis and screening, and using decision-making tools/models, including financial and non-financial criteria, to support negotiations of contract
- Experience in sourcing program implementation, savings tracking, and compliance management
- Familiarity with SAP and Ivalua
- Excellent negotiating, analytical and creative problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Telecommunications networks and industry
- Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with executives, coworkers, managers and clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
- Excellent business and industry awareness, staying current on trends that impacts the business.
- Ability to lead a team and effectively work in a team, as well as across teams in a highly matrixed environment.
- Experience in a complex, issues driven organization.
