The purpose of this role 

The Account Executive allows Microsoft to better serve our clients, realise the potential of Microsoft Technologies and be at the forefront of the transition to a mobile-first and cloud-first organization. This role is dedicated to increasing revenue and improving customer satisfaction through senior account management working in tandem with Microsoft Partners.    

The Account Executive adds value by developing and maintaining strong customer relationships that include building relationships with executives at the Chief-level (CxO) as well as other Business and Technical Decision Makers within the customers’ institutions. This role is unique in its ability to effectively leverage technology and extensive members of the virtual sales team to build strong relationships with the accounts in its portfolio. It is also unique in its ability to work directly with and through Microsoft Partners to meet customer needs. 

Responsibilities include;

  • Managing a territory in Australia with dedicated v-team of product sales specialists and technical specialists.  Approximately 50 customers.
  •  Entrepreneurial and self-starter mentality with business management skills by using data driven insights to understand the health of the business from adds, consumption, revenue point of view; and align resources to drive v-team execution.
  • Develop account strategy and customer contact plans that expand our business relationships to drive impact and business growth for our customers.
  • Able to articulate how Microsoft may help our customers and relate these to Microsoft’s digital transformation story, platform messaging and product suite. 
  • Use leadership and collaboration skills to guide and coach the extended team on how to maximize opportunity generation and stretch towards or above target.
  • Qualify opportunities and convert them to a customer solution-based scenario. Accountable for preparing business forecast, using Microsoft’s tools and resources.
  • Lead territory planning process that aligns partner and Microsoft resources to maximize revenue, customer satisfaction, and grow share.
  • Lead and challenge customer with clear strategic vision of digital transformation.  

Qualifications

  • You have experience developing effective account strategies to drive impact and targeted business growth.
  • You can lead orchestration, collaboration, and execution by leveraging your deep understanding of customer needs.  You can disrupt the mindset of customers and sales teams by bringing innovative ideas that showcase case for change.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7 + years of technology related sales or business development and negotiation experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Marketing (or equivalent) or related field AND 4+ years of sales and negotiation experience or related work or internship experience with year-over-year growth
