Business Unit Description:
Home Buying sits within Retail Ireland and is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategy for mortgage loans in the Republic of Ireland, to include all aspects of mortgage markets, risk profile, returns, costs, fulfilment, servicing and market positioning.
Mortgage Customer Delivery is a function within Home Buying and supports customers during their mortgage application process and throughout the life of their mortgage.
Purpose of the Role:
The focus of this role is submit quality mortgage applications to Credit on behalf of our Brokers and to provide outstanding service and direction to the Mortgage Broker panel throughout the mortgage journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- To package and submit quality applications to credit on behalf of brokers which includes sophisticated applications such as self-employed, company directors, portfolio investors, multiple properties and self-builds
- Delivery of mortgage targets within agreed service level agreements and ensure applications are submitted right first time with minimal rework
- To be a key contact point for brokers from application submission to mortgage drawdown while providing mentorship, support and feedback to help brokers understand the viability of the proposal
- To identify potential continuous improvements in the way we operate and bring these ideas forward for discussion!
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the Broker panel that will drive channel growth and market share and provide feedback to Broker RM/ Head of Intermediaries on quality of Broker applications and common trends
- Confirmed understanding of the mortgage industry and the Irish property market including the latest trends, competitor products and pricing
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the Broker Team making sure that the Bank are providing a first class differentiated service.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to break down the complexity of the mortgage process into simple easy to follow stages
- Maintain the highest level of compliance and quality standards by ensuring all procedures and processes are carried out accurately.
Essential Qualifications:
- QFA is the preferred qualification however applications from individuals who hold APA Loans, Regulations and Investments will be accepted on the understanding, that, if successful at interview, they will contribute to attaining QFA within 18 months of being appointed to the role
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Credit knowledge/experience of packaging mortgage applications

- Self-starter capable of working on own initiative with strong problem solving skills
- Good understanding of business accounts
- Great teammate with a hard-working, proactive approach to work and accepts responsibility and ownership
