What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will oversee the control and efficiency of the Relief at source and Tax reclaims lodgment in all global markets RBC I&TS Operates. You will provide business direction and strategy around the impact of Technology, Regulatory and Compliance matters with regards to Tax Operations. You will manage and improve relationships all stakeholders to drive efficiency and control objectives and imbed a client first culture within the team.

What will you do?

• Responsible for the strategy as well as the accurate and timely production of Global withholding tax activates (RAS & Reclaims) 
• Responsible for overall management of the tax process, coordination with all internal teams related to the tax process
• Establish and lead an environment of continuous improvement and change
• Provide timely communications, proactive support, advice, coaching and development to staff
• Work with the Client Service Managers and Relationship Managers to manage client expectations

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 5+ Years in the Tax Operations field or transferable experience and/or 5+ years’ experience as a People leader
• University Degree in related field
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Good organization skills and ability to prioritize workloads to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to escalate and provide visibility to senior management proactively
• Creative thinking and innovator
• Good interpersonal skills and networking abilities with sub-custodians and internal departments
• Ability to manage and direct others effectively as well as coach and train them

Nice-to-have:

• Experience managing client expectations
• Experience working in a global operations team
• Demonstrated agility in supporting new and emerging technologies
