Job Description
Main Duties:
- Create, manipulate, update, and maintain accurate records in electronic information systems
- Carry out quality checking of archival records in various electronic databases and collect information from physical items
- Quality checking and movement of digital archival records
- Develop knowledge of internal electronic information systems through on the job training and carry out updates relating to the preservation of archival records.
- Work closely with team members and colleagues; participate in meetings; actively support working relationships across the organisation
- Perform administrative tasks including; the preparation of statistics, procedures and correspondence; enter and retrieve data from electronic records systems using established procedures and practices
- Identify and recommended solutions to resolve or mitigate problems, and provide feedback on procedures or workflows to make these efficient and effective
- Undertake the physical handing, retrieval and return of archival records and other tasks as directed, ensure that Work, Health and Safety issues are identified, reported and monitored.
To be successful for this position, you will:
- Have strong data entry skills and Excel experience.
- Have great customer service/people skills to perform secretarial duties
- Have an interest in archives, libraries and/or other cultural institutions, or a background in working with audiovisual media
- Have experience in administration and general office duties
- Be comfortable with lifting up to 15kg
- Be able to pass a Federal Police Check.
