Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

You will manage and perform general ledger reconciliations of Balance Sheet Payroll/Benefits Accounts for Canada, UK and Channel Islands (CI). You will be the primary contact for Finance teams enquires relating to Payroll Accounts.​

Please note this is a contract role.

What will you do?

  • Ensures accounts are reconciled in a timely manner, variances explained and cleared prior to monthly results closure
  • Coordinate with Finance teams clearing of any outstanding items prior to the P&L close    
  • Provide assistance to Finance teams in the monthly and annual reconciliation process of Payroll/Benefits Accrual Accounts
  • Collaborate and provide assistance to Finance teams (CM, WM, I&TS) in the monthly reconciliation process of Bonus Accrual Accounts
  • Ensure compliance with Unit Financial Control, SOX, EUC and other internal control policy requirements   
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve operational processes and implements enhancements related to payroll processes
  • Monitor and report on patterns/trends of operational or financial concern and recommends solutions

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Minimum five years of finance / payroll experience, preferably within RBC 
  • Accounting knowledge
  • Advance Excel Skills
  • SAP/ADP experience
  • Strong communication skills - oral & written
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective organizational skills and time management
