Your new company
Our client has been a leading edge in providing Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning design, engineering, installation, service and maintenance across ANZ for over 80 years. With their Head Office based in Auckland, their factory and manufacturing site along with a number of support staff is based in Central Tauranga.
Your new role
It's in this Tauranga-Based Site that you will be employed as the Finance Business Partner, supported by an Assistant Accountant and a small team of administrators, in addition to the production site. Your key responsibilities will cover:
1. Assume responsibility of the monthly close requirements, assure accurate standard costs and perform the required cost and variance analysis
2. Develop and analyse standard product costs using labour and machine rates, as well as activity based costing principles.
3. Develop metrics and KPI reporting to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the plant, provide insight/recommendations for improvements in plant profitability, and inventory management.
4. Complete necessary monthly financial reporting packs.
5. Partnering with management to develop fit-for-purpose financial models to support decision making.
6. Ensure the Tauranga plant is compliant with Company policies, and statutory requirements
7. Maintain inventory control systems to provide accurate accounting of on hand inventory and oversee the physical inventory process and reconciliation.
8. Train plant personnel in interpreting financial information and assist in identifying root cause of key issues, whilst guiding implementation of corrective actions and monitoring results.
9. Drive the monthly forecasting process for the Auckland case business and Tauranga
10. Own the budgeting process for the Auckland case business and Tauranga
11. Partner with commercial team to provide product and customer level insight to maximise profitability of the company’s product and customer portfolio
12. Partner with management on key strategic projects to optimize case operations from Quotation to Manufacture/Supply
What you'll need to succeed
• Degree in Business, Commerce or Finance with postgraduate qualification as a CA or CPA
• 5+ years in a business partnering role
• Advanced excel skills, and demonstrated understanding of financial information systems and databases
• Cost accounting expertise in manufacturing and standard costing, with minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong hands on experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting within a commercial environment
• Proficient in financial modelling with the ability to analyse and interpret large amounts of data to provide insights and support improved business performance.
