The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure track position in Finance at the rank of Assistant commencing July 1, 2022. Title of the position: Finance scholar at the rank of Assistant professor. Terms: Tenure-track. Duties: a) Teaching activities: The candidate should be interested in and able to teach asset pricing and capital markets at the undergraduate, professional, and graduate (MBA, MSc, and/or Ph.D.) levels and engage in supervision of graduate students. b) Scholarly activities: Primary roles will be to undertake high-quality research that is publishable in the leading academic journals in finance or related fields, and to engage in the development and delivery of new programs and courses, including support to our Capital Market program. We are seeking candidates with strong research and publication potential in Asset Pricing, including the areas of financial markets, institutional investors, quantitative investing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Research expertise in all areas of finance will be considered; however, preference will be given to candidates with interest and experience in Asset Pricing. c) Academic service activities as agreed with the Dean. Salary and Benefits Package: Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and typically starts at $130,000 - $150,000 per year. The School also offers a start-up period with a reduced teaching load and start-up funding for research. Skills Requirements: ? Education: Ph.D. (or ABD) in Finance ? Language: English and/or French. The ability to teach in both official languages is an asset. ? Work experience: • Commensurate with rank and experience, a high-potential program of research as demonstrated by articles published (or with potential to be published) in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. • Strong teaching competency at the undergraduate, professional (MBA) and Masters and/or Ph.D. levels as demonstrated by past teaching evaluations and a presentation given to faculty members and students if invited for an interview; and • Ability to define, lead, manage and attract funds for internationally excellent research.
