Job Summary:

Pricing Architects lead the development of robust financial analysis for qualified Global Managed Service (GMS) pursuits. This role must ensure that EY is able to:

• understand the expected financial performance of a GMS engagement
• construct a compelling commercial case that meets the client’s need and delivers a return for EY
• identify opportunites to increase the commercial attractiveness both to the client and EY
• understand the implications of identified risks and opportunities to achieveing the best outcomes for EY and the client.

 Your Key Responsibilities:

1. Support upfront qualification of complex MS pursuits – with particular focus on testing both parties’ value proposition and designing the pricing approach for the pursuit.
2. Lead/support the design of a competitive pricing proposition for the client, whilst achieving an appropriate EY commercial return
3. Identify and contribute to the management of key risks – working closely with the pursuit leader, solution architect, legal , commercial, negotiations, risk, and independence.
4. The pricing architect’s contribution will include any/all of costing the solution components, development of the Client Business Case, the EY Business Case, a pricing response, contractual pricing schedules and documents, addressing client concerns/requirements and mitigating EY risks. 
5. Present the pursuit’s EY business cases for internal approvals and may be required to interact wth the client to develop and present the client’s Business Case.
6. Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal pursuit and delivery teams
7. Support the transfer of the pricing knowledge to the EY MS delivery team to ensure the ongoing management of the commercial aspects of contracts.
8. Monitor and review the financial returns delivered by MS engagements to ensure learning is captured as engagements deliver.
9. Capture knowledge and contribute to the development and embedding into EY artefacts that can be used to support MS pursuits – e.g. costing and pricing policies, models, promoting re-use assets wherever possible
10. Develop and run training programmes on pricing pursuits lessons learned for account, Managed Services and delivery teams.
11. Develop people through effective leadership, coaching and mentoring.
12. Support the recruitment into and development of pricing talent in, the GMS team

Skills and attributes for success

Experience of having led complex Managed Services pricing for clients in EY and/or other organisations, fluency in alternate fee arrangements.

• 5+ years of working in a complex managed services or professional services environment
• Working across multiple senior stakeholders, both client and EY
• High level of drive and ability to work independently and under pressure
• Highly numerate and detail oriented
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation, and client service skills
• Comfortable with presenting to senior stakeholders
• Demonstrate strong organization skills, with capability to work independently to plan structure, and execute pursuit activities
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Attention to detail, and able to continually produce work of consistently high-quality within time constraints
• Comfortable working in unstructured environments and the ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and change
• Comfortable with financial modeling
• Expert in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated capabilities in PowerPoint and Word           

 To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor’s degree

 Ideally, you’ll also have

• MBA and or master’s degree in Business, IT or related field
• Experience in a professional services and/or outsourcing firm
• Experience working in/with distributed teams
• Accountancy/financial qualification or equivalent experience with financial reporting, accounting practices and presentation of financial information
• Experience of the full lifecycle from opportunity identification through the sales process, contracting and the delivery of projects within a services organisation
• Demonstrable leadership in driving business profitability through rigorous revenue/pricing analysis.
• Strong business partnering skills – and a demonstrable experience of influencing commercial decisions at a senior level, through robust and persuasive analysis
• Complex data/financial modelling and ability to build compelling narratives for non-financial or non-technical audiences.
• Advanced technical skills, such as enterprise data management/querying, statistical platforms and methods and predictive analytics.
