Your new role
The newly formed role will see you protect and enhance the corporate reputation of the organisation. The role will focus on the following:
- To help deliver an effective corporate/financial media strategy and manage relationships with financial and other journalists and columnists across major dailies, wire services, and relevant electronic and online media
- To help deliver an effective government relations strategy and manage relationships with key government officials, advisers and influencers
- To help identify opportunities to add the organisations perspective and help provide solutions to public policy challenges
- To help identify and manage impact of potential reputational crises and issues, with a general philosophy of “no surprisesâ€
- To help respond to media enquiries and pitch stories to media
- To help support spokespeople in media activity and public speaking
What you'll need to succeed
- Media and external relations experience
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong networking and relationship management skills
- Strong influencing and persuasion skills
- Knowledge of financial, legal, and regulatory frameworks as well as market dynamics and key business drivers
- Ability to deal with pressure and work to demanding deadlines, including juggling multiple projects and competing priorities
- Ability to interpret complex financial matters.
- Calm under pressure
- Flexible and non-hierarchical team player, prepared and able to work across functional teams as required
- Commercial acumen
