We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Export Officer to join our prestigious client with its office based in Takanini .This is an extremely critical and integral part of the export department and a fantastic opportunity for someone who is up for the challenge and the next step in their career.
Your new role
The Export Officer is responsible for the efficient day to day running of the Export department. Reporting to the Environmental Service manager, this role is to support the Export ,Customer Service and Transport team in the delivery of their responsibilities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Day to day running of the Export department in a smooth, cost effective way
- General Knowledge of Scrap metal industry/ Freight & transport
- Having a Customs Pin would be ideal
- Obtaining best possible freight rates. All rates kept up to date
- Retaining 14 days Free-time for ALL destinations
- Retaining 21 days origin Free-time for ALL Shipping lines. 18 days minimum
- All Export and Import Battery permits are renewed and maintained
- All Container Damage charges are strongly negotiated and kept to a minimum.
- Work with the Trading Manager to ensure that all sales are processed timely and to contract
- Rail vs. Coastal movements are analysed prior to booking to ensure inter company stocks are moved in the most cost-efficient way.
- All Imports are processed in a timely manner to avoid unnecessary charges
- All O.B.L’s and/or Final Documentation to be released in a timely manner
- Strict control is kept over outstanding debtors.
- Scrap IT input/output maintained accurately
- Excellent communication skills
- Freight and Transport movements effective
- Liaise closely with Operations, Trading, Compliance, Business Development and Yard Managers in ensuring the safe and professional operations
- Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Logistics Manager and to the required standards
- Ability to identify workable solutions to difficult / complex issues.
- High level of self-motivation.
- Excellent interpersonal capabilities
- Ideally from the transport ,Logistics or shipping industry
- Must be a resident or citizen currently living in New Zealand.
