Position Title: Experienced Electrical, Hydraulics & Heavy Machinery Mechanic
Employer: Redglint Pty Ltd
Reporting To: The Manager
Responsible For: Reporting on Day to Day Project Works
Location: Buckenderra, Rural NSW
Remuneration: $60,000 pa
Work: Maintenance and rebuilds of heavy farm, earthmoving and ex-military machinery in a rural work environment.
Role Summary
The applicant is expected to be proficient in hydraulic, electrical and heavy machinery mechanical works, shall work under the direction of The Manager and shall be compliant with works schedules and specifications as provided by The Manager.
Within the scope of The Mangers directed and scheduled works the Mechanic shall additionally be capable of working autonomously and with practical initiative to perform all actions on a day to day basis and be able to achieve satisfactory works outcomes.
Furthermore the ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of servicing, repairing and rebuilding various types of heavy machinery and vehicles, as well as having experience operating the equipment.
Must have diverse experience in Servicing & Fixing the following:
- All Heavy Machinery (military experience desirable)
- Tracked and wheeled machines
- Engine Systems
- Transmission Systems
- Electrical Systems
- Hydraulic Systems
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Mechanic shall work to project management plans as determined by The Manager and shall:-
- Act as Redglints agent while engaged in works on each project,
- Perform all works within the scope of the mechanic’s skills outlined herein,
- Be able to work in both isolated sub-alpine field environments (in all climates) and a workshop environment,
- Maintain a high level of performance in these works to achieve superior quality outcomes,
- Build and maintain a high level of respect with fellow workers, suppliers, management staff and clients,
- Where required, act as supervisor on project site and provide oversight for works performed by others on those sites,
- Act as overseer to confirm the correct site procedures, safety practices and compliance issues are maintained,
- Follow health and safety policy and undertake health and safety training as required,
- Use all plant and equipment provided on site with due care,
- Regularly report on site works and progress to The Manager so that practical and proactive project management actions can be implemented,
- Work in the best interests of safety, around all staff and Redglints clients,
- Maintain confidentiality of all matters relevant to Redglints business and the clients interests,
- Enter into and be bound by a legal non-disclosure agreement.
Duties and responsibilities may vary at times so the role requires a flexibility to comply with possible changes as long as these are within the scope of health, safety and statutory compliance requirements.
Specific Skills & Capabilities
The Mechanic shall have the following skills and capabilities:-
- Completed Australian or foreign trade qualifications as a heavy vehicle mechanic with electrical and hydraulic qualifications,
- At least 5 years practical experience in the trade as a heavy vehicle mechanic,
- Have a proven record and practical displayed skill confirming the attained high degree of competency as a heavy vehicle mechanic,
- Have a strong eye and personal commitment to detail and quality,
- Be a pro-active problem solver,
- Be physically fit and capable of autonomously performing the work,
- Show good literacy, communication and numeracy skills,
- Display a cooperative, competent and confident manner,
- Have reasonable leadership qualities,
- Be able to work with a team as a team player,
- Be comfortable working in semi-isolated work environments,
- Be aspirational for life and the business.
Additional Position Requirements
In order to practically perform the role within rural environment the position has additional requirements:-
- A full complement of general trade tools specific for the performance of the duties and responsibilities outlined herein,
- A reliable 4WD work vehicle capable of accessing rural off-road sites and able to tow suitable work trailers “to and from†those sites,
- Be willing to work full-time.
