POSITION OVERVIEW

We at Agnew IRM are seeking an experienced Head Chef to work on a full-time, permanent basis at a well-established licensed venue in South Perth owned and operated by our client.

We are seeking a candidate who is available to work days/nights and weekends and who can lead a team effectively in the creation and production of high quality dishes.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS - SKILLS

We are seeking a candidate who possess the skills to perform the following duties:

• Controlling and directing the food preparation process
• Approving and polishing dishes before they reach the customer
• Managing and working closely with other Cooks; Chefs; and kitchen staff of all levels
• Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality
• Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
• Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations, including sanitary and food safety guidelines
• Being responsible for kitchen health and safety
• Being responsible for kitchen food hygiene practices
• Rostering kitchen staff and managing kitchen labour costs
• Training and mentoring kitchen staff
• Working closely with the Hotel Manager and Restaurant Manager to achieve KPI’s
• Preparing function and event menu options

POSITION REQUIREMENTS – QUALIFICATIONS; EXPERIENCE; AND ABILITIES

We are seeking a candidate who possess the following qualifications; experience; and abilities:

• Relevant AQF qualification preferred but not essential
• Minimum 10 years of employment experience at a senior level in busy commercial kitchens essential
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lead and influence team members
• Ability to manage time and work well under pressure
• Ability to work on a full-time basis

POSITION SALARY

$90,000 per annum + super
