Job Description

We have a unique and stimulating role of Executive Assistant responsible for the delivery of professional and timely executive services to the Co-Leaders of Te Papa (the Tumu Whakarae | Chief Executive and the Kaihautū) and Te Papa Board.

You will be experienced in executive support with a high level of judgement and initiative that you will successfully apply in our complex, multi-faceted and bicultural environment. To be effective you will need proven experience in communications and relationship management including with iwi organisations, hapū and whanau.

It is essential that you have a high level of discretion, and the maturity and understanding of the various levels and types of relationships that exist in Te Papa's mix of government, business and community environments.

To be successful in this role you will need an outgoing, confident personality and a highly professional presentation. You'll be an outstanding communicator, able to influence and assist across many diverse internal and external stakeholders. A strong team ethic, can-do approach and an unflappable attitude are prerequisites.

As well as the executive skills to perform a role at this level, you will have an ability to apply tikanga in the workplace and at minimum a foundational level of te reo Māori.

In return for your skills and experience, we offer a completely unique opportunity, where you can be part of history as it is made. If you are looking for an opportunity to work in a bicultural organisation with dynamic co-leadership and an aspirational Board then we would love to hear from you.

The starting salary for this position will be between $59,112 to $81,279.  Offers will be made within the range in accordance with the skills and experience offered by the candidate and those required of the role, and relativities with others in a comparable role in the band.

Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Appointment to a position at Te Papa will require the production of evidence, prior to the commencement of work, of a “MY Vaccine Pass' issued by the Ministry of Health.

Prior to Te Papa confirming any offer of employment, pre-employment checks will be undertaken including criminal conviction history and reference checking as a minimum
