Job Description

What you will do

As one of Engineers, you will be responsible for providing support for incidents, problems and changes. You will have key involvement in the development of new products and product enhancements as part of a DevOps team. You will work, from time to time, with other product teams to ensure that mutually beneficial goals are achieved.

As part of the Communications and Information Branch you will use a range of technologies to support 14,000 personnel, many of whom are operating in geographically remote or hostile environments to protect your whanau, your country and our environment from harm.

Locations available to be based in are Auckland, Manawatu, Wellington, or Burnham. Please indicate in your cover letter your preferred location.

What we need

Technical skills:

Knowledge of, or exposure to, the following (the more the better):

  • Microsoft products (Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory);
  • Any and all aspects of O365 (particularly Endpoint Manager, Exchange Online and Teams);
  • Server Monitoring and Management Tools;
  • Azure Platform and Azure Stack;
  • Enterprise printing;
  • Knowledge of NZISM and ITIL.

Experience:

  • An IT related degree or certification; and/or;
  • Equivalent experience working in an IT environment;
  • Experience with IT Security is advantageous;
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications is advantageous;
  • Working in an Agile framework;
  • Describing technical solutions to non-technical audiences.

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
