About us:

Little Oxford Montessori is a boutique early learning and care environment situated at 18 Trimmer Terrace, Unley. 

We have a maximum of 55 children per day with a close-knit team of 12 permanent educators, and we use the Montessori method to guide our practices. This means that we have an emphasis on treating each child with respect, empowering them to develop independence, designing inspiring learning environments, and encouraging child-directed exploration and engagement. Family values are at the core of everything we do and we are blessed to work with loyal and emotionally-invested families.

 The requirements:

We are seeking a permanent addition to our team and we are ideally seeking a full-time educarer, but if the 'right person' needed more flexible hours we would consider a part-time role. Please indicate if you have a preference for full-time or part-time. 

Applicants must have experience and possess either a Certificate, Diploma or a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood). We will consider applications from students who are working towards their Certificate, Diploma or Bach ECE if significant progress, ongoing commitment and relevant professional experience is evident.

Montessori experience or training is highly-regarded, but not required. Successful applicants who do not have Montessori qualifications will be provided with an initial induction to help you understand the fundamentals and will be approached to undertake further supported study after the first 12 months of your employment. Little Oxford’s physical environment is beautiful, light, and spacious, with delightful classrooms, multipurpose spaces, a nature block in addition to our garden and playground, and three separate office areas to provide a non-contact space for teaching staff, a focused room for our administrator and a private office for our Director. 

Our family-friendly approach comes from the heart, having a founder (Barbara Langford) who started her first Montessori centre for her own daughter Jessica, 33 years ago. The success and reputation that has followed Barbara since that time is a testament to the quality she provides in her centres.

We have extremely strong protocols for Covid risk minimisation, and we pride ourselves on managing this aspect of life to the best of our ability to protect the health and well-being of our community.

We embed principles of Positive Psychology into our practices to promote well-being for our team members as well as our children and families. 

Our outgoing Administrator is stepping up to the role of centre Director. This means our incoming Administrative Coordinator will have the capacity to connect with her on a daily basis to ensure a smooth and successful handover and ongoing support,
