The opportunity
Our national economics practice is going through an exciting period of growth. We’re looking for Economists (Consultants, Senior Consultants and Managers) to play a leading role in growing our business and delivering high-profile engagements with our global networks and fast-moving clients. These positions are available to the right candidates across our national practice, providing ongoing exposure to teams and clients across the country and the opportunity engage on important and exciting issues.
As part of our team, you’ll develop your capabilities in high quality analysis, managing relationships and challenging assumptions. You’ll receive the support, training and coaching you need to progress quickly along the career path you choose.
Your key responsibilities
In your role as an Economist you will liaise with clients and deliver solutions across a range of public and private engagements including:
Economic appraisals and cost benefit analysis
Policy and strategy development and regulatory advice
Statistical and econometric forecasting
Labour market modelling and analysis
Bespoke analysis and modelling of complex business problems
Developing detailed proposals and supporting business development initiatives
Skills and attributes for success
At the Consultant/Senior Consultant level we’re looking for people with the following capabilities and experience:
Degree qualified in economics or a related discipline with 1 to 3 years of experience in a corporate, consulting or government setting
Excellent interpersonal and client management skills, including the ability to contribute to a high-performance team environment
Demonstrated experience in conducting and writing-up research on industry and policy issues
Effective project management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deliverables
Exceptional report writing and communication skills
Strong quantitative skills with a background in applied economic and/or econometric analysis
At the Manager level we’re looking for people with the following capabilities and experience:
Degree qualified in economics or a related discipline with over 3 years of experience in a corporate, consulting or government setting
Demonstrated experience in delivering economic impact and cost benefit studies, econometrics, forecasting, business modelling, regulatory analysis and economic policy advice
Proven ability to define and solve problems, research issues and potential solutions, and provide advice on policy and government programs, market trends and industry practices
A track record of managing high-performing teams and delivering exceptional client experiences
An ability to deliver impactful ‘photo-ready’ reports, proposals, and presentation materials
Ideally, you’ll also have
Complementing your capabilities to apply an economic lens to problems, a proficiency in spreadsheet-based analysis, econometrics and programming languages would also be desirable
