Wymap Group is a privately owned aviation logistics transport company that has been providing services to the airfreight, airport and airline industries since 1981. Due to strong business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations & Customer Service Manager to lead our operations team located at Auckland Airport. This is a permanent full time position reporting to the Branch Manager Auckland. 

About the role: 

Wymap Group is seeking to appoint a driven and passionate individual with exceptional skills to manage our operations in a fast-moving industry and guide the business through growth and expansion. In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for the provision of control and management of the day-to-day operations, managing our customers whilst promoting and ensuring health and safety policies and systems for a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities will include: 

  • Direction and oversight of the Auckland - Wymap Group operations, including, but not limited to Supervisors, Drivers and Support Staff, yard and facility management and equipment.
  • Daily site and terminal visits and presence to oversee and guide our staff as required and liaison customer front line personnel to maximize professional service delivery and fleet effectiveness;
  • Contribution to and delivery of toolbox talks and operational requirement of the day / week.
  • Project Management skills for new avenues of Wymap Group set up in New Zealand.
  • Work with the Safety & Compliance department to develop and implement divisional standard operating procedures, conduct safety audits and incident investigations and attend meetings;
  • Ensure operational staff have access to the required levels of equipment to fulfill their functions e.g. beacons, load restraint equipment etc.
  • Ensure CoR compliance including the Company CoR Program, Speeding, Mass Management, Maintenance and Fatigue through monitoring and mentoring of operational and support staff.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers and staff through set meetings, email, telephone and face to face interactions;

About You

 You will have the motivation and eagerness to contribute towards the strategic deliverable and have a “make it happen” attitude within all aspects of the operations to empower our team to achieve operational success. 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Diploma or Certificate IV in transport & logistics preferred
  • Current drivers licence (Class 4 or above preferred)
  • High-Risk Work Licence (LF)
  • First aid certificate
  • Dangerous goods awareness certificate
  • 5+ years managing a transport & logistics operation including fleet, staff and depot;
  • HVNL (CoR) compliance management;
  • Complex roster management and service delivery 24x7 (365);
  • Airfreight/cargo industry knowledge.
