A twelve-month traineeship is a great way to establish your career, and you could be Heartfelt Support's first ever trainee. So, let's give you the bullet points and see if it suits you: - We are going to train you in supporting people with a disability, under a Certificate 3 in Individual Support (Disability). You will learn through off site training and on the job training. If you are not at a point in your life where you want to learn, don't apply! - We are going to hire a person with experience with caring for horses and who loves being around them. Many of our clients take part in our horse programs. If you can't demonstrate this experience or think that looking after horses is not for you, don't apply! - We have to work by the rules that the government sets, so we can't hire someone who already has a Certificate 4 or a university degree. We don't make the rules and we can't change them, so if you are already qualified, don't apply! - You will need a licence and a car. The work locations can be different every day. If you've got this far in this advert and we haven't put you off, let's tell you a bit about the role. We help all sorts of people in their homes and out in the community. Sometimes it's as easy as going for a walk with someone that can walk just fine and sometimes it's hard and complex and there are wheelchairs and other devices involved. Sometimes it's a short session and sometimes it's an exhausting full day expedition. You'll interact with clients who are having the best day of their week and clients who are having a terrible time. From a trainee, we don't expect knowledge and experience but we do expect empathy, responsibility, good language, communication and organisational skills. We expect the sort of person whom people like and trust. (Dog and horses should share the same opinion of you, they are pretty smart). You won't be expected to handle difficult situations all by yourself, but the work will challenge you. During this traineeship you would expect to have one day a fortnight at training, about half the remaining time assisting on the horse programs and the rest working with other support workers, or, after a time, undertaking simpler tasks for clients yourself. It's not all horses, it's not all horse-free, but in the middle. Please apply with your resumé and a cover letter. Most trainees are around school leaving age, but we are open and flexible. Please don't think we won't consider you if you are more mature. We are considering either a full time trainee or a 25 hour per week trainee. We pay the correct training wage according to the Fair Work Office, if you've ever looked into those it's honestly different for just about every person, depending on age, when you left school and how much schooling you have, and it's easier if we just ask the the FWO .
